Travel Notes
Medellín — September 2023
We arrive in Medellín at night. As we go down the speedway from the airport, descending into the city, thousands of yellow lights glimmer on all sides of the valley.
I’ll come to remember Medellín by its colors: the stained gray concrete of its bridges, the warm yellow — almost like egg yolk — of their railings and of the curbstones, the reddish tones of its brick buildings. But most intensely I’ll remember the rich, deep, nuanced layers and layers of greens and yellows and purples of the plants.
